FIRST STEPS TO GO GREEN AT YOUR EVENT/MARKET

Policy and Action Plan

You'll need to develop a plastic free policy and action plan, with guidelines and considerations to ensure compliance. We can sit down with you (allow 30-60 minutes), and go through the actions and help you create an action plan that is easy to follow and achieve your goals.

Sustainability Officer

We ask that you assign a core member of your team to be responsible for implementing the program and we ask that this person be our point of contact.
(e.g. a sustainability officer, green team leader etc).

We can help you get there

There are many reasons to run a plastic free event:

  • Protection of our environment by reducing the potential for plastic litter
  • An event that is likely to achieve local Council permits and waste policy requirements
  • More sustainable use of resources and a decrease in single-use item usage
  • Potential savings through reductions in waste to landfill and post-clean-up costs
  • Potential income stream through container refund scheme collections
  • Enhanced reputation of the event with tourists, sponsors, vendors and the community
  • A clean and well-managed event that recognises the growing community support and expectation for sustainable events.

Our program will help you eliminate single-use plastics, and if you plan to compost your waste, we can advise on this as well.

PLUS we have resources to equip you for success such as draft policies, checklists, sourcing plastic free vendors, requirements for vendors, bulk product discounts and more. We also have bin covers and signage you can borrow.
