Yo-Chi Noosa is proudly leading the way in sustainable hospitality, officially recognised as a Plastic Free Noosa Champion. With a strong commitment to reducing single-use waste across their venues, Yo-Chi has embedded meaningful, measurable environmental action into their everyday operations, and are proactively reviewing back-of-house packaging to reduce waste.
Since 2022, Yo-Chi has eliminated all single-use plastic water bottles, preventing an incredible 5 million bottles from ending up in landfill. Water refill stations are installed in every venue – including Noosa – supported by reusable drink cups to encourage guests to refill their own bottles and avoid unnecessary disposables. They also welcome walk-ins for thirsty passers by - you don't even have to buy a Yo-Chi to fill up your drink bottle, or even treat yourself to a free sparkling water!
Their commitment to reuse continues across the menu, with commercially compostable cups (AS 4736) and a strong push for customers to bring their own. Yo-Chi also rewards reusable behaviour through their Go Bowl initiative, offering a 10% bonus to incentivise choosing reusables over single-use.
Giving back is built into their culture through the Change-4-Change program, where customers can donate spare change and Yo-Chi matches it dollar-for-dollar, supporting hyper-local or national charities.
Yo-Chi’s sustainability focus extends behind the scenes too. Their açaí is 100% sustainably sourced, working with 100% Amazonia, a B-Corp organisation who are one of the most sustainable, ethical & renowned açaí suppliers in Brazil.
Their Noosa store is also progressing toward local composting solutions while FOGO services are rolled out nationally. Refillable cleaning product stations further reduce unnecessary packaging.
